More Bullets To Come

American Civil War bullets - It is estimated that at least 7 million rounds (bullets - not including artillery) were fired just at the Battle of Gettysburg. The Richmond Arsenal alone manufactured over 72 million rounds of small arms ammo. There were reports that during the Atlanta campaign, Sherman's troops averaged firing 200,000 rounds/day from rifles and pistols. These numbers don’t include all of the bullets made by state and local arsenals on both sides, “homemade” bullets, and musket rounds. In other words, no one knows for sure how many bullets were manufactured and spent during the Civil War between 1861 and 1865.

Over the years, we have collected and offered almost every type of round used during the War. From a .36 caliber Colt Navy Pistol, .44 caliber Colt Army Pistol, .52 caliber Sharps Ringtail, .54 caliber Burnside carbine, .577 caliber Enfield bullet, .58 caliber Confederate Gardner, .58 caliber US minie bullet, .58 caliber Williams Type II Cleaner, to a .69 caliber musket ball. Civil war bullets collided mid-air, Civil War bullets fused together, Civil War bullets in trees, Civil War bullets shot vs. Civil War bullets dropped (drops) - every bullet hints at a story we can never know.
